Schizo
This week I read Schizo by Nic Sheff. It is about a boy named Miles who has schizophrenia. He is coping with the loss of his brother, who went missing during one of miles's schizophrenic episodes. Feeling guilty about this Miles sets off to find his little brother in order to "redeem" himself in the eyes of his family. This book is dark, but very well written. It explores darker themes and has sad moments. I would recommend this book to everyone in our class who is willing to read it, keeping its dark themes in mind.

poem
She smiles
She laughs
a twinkle of joy
glimmer of happiness
she is running
running as fast as her little legs can carry her
giggling a screaming with delight
infecting others with her laughter and joy
she is happy
happiness is infectious
happiness is essential
joy is essential
especially in places where sadness roams
because sadness is also infectious
sadness can turn into hate and anger
sadness is hard to beat
but it only takes one person
one person to side with joy
because joy is infectious
and she is joy

speak
This week I finished Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. It is about a girl named Melinda. It is her freshman year of high school, and she is struggling, her best class being art which is the only place she can find peace. She is a social outcast because she called the cops on a end of the year party, which resulted in some kids getting arrested. She is becomes quieter with time barely even speaking at all, until she is finally able to face what happened at the party that night. This book was phenomenal. The characters were well developed, the plot was interesting, and it was just overall well written.

Speak
I really like this book. It is dark, but it very well written. This book was great. It was extremely well written and was very emotional. I would recommend this to people in our class who are willing to read it, of course keeping in mind that it has some darker themes.

When you Reach me
This book was interesting. It had a ok plot and a really weird ending. It is about this girl named Miranda who lives in New York City. She starts getting weird notes about preventing a death. Will she be able to stop this death, or will it be to late. I thought this book was ok. The plot was interesting and characters were developed. The one thing that really frustrated me was the ending. It didn't go well with feel of the story and made me feel unsatisfied. I would recommend this book to Grace, Gabe, Talia, AC, Haley,
and Miles.
and Miles.
