This book is unique. I honestly can't think of a better word to describe it. It is one of those books that only comes along once in awhile where you are simultaneously perplexed and intrigued. It's about a group of girls competing in the Miss Teen Dream pageant. While the girls are flying to shoot a promo their plane crashes on a deserted island where they are forced to figure out a way to survive. The story is told from the perspectives of the different beauty queens, discussing their personal challenges along with their methods of survival. Like I said before this story is unique, with the author adding hidden depths to the characters instead of just leaving the to be comically shallow. This allows for you to laugh at the characters while also being able to relate to them. To any people who are willing to read this keep in mind that there are some very mature themes that the book goes into.

Glory O'Brien's History Of The Future
This book as I said before is "special". It's theme is odd and I still am somewhat confused by it. The story focuses on Glory, who is about to graduate from high school. She hasn't decided what she wants to do in her life. When she was four years old her mother committed suicide so she lives with her father. One day she and her friend Ellie decide to drink a mummified bat (because that's what angsty bored teenagers do...) and they soon find they have the power to see in to the future and past of everyone they look at. Like I said in the previous blog this book reminds me of a Wes Anderson movie. Its awkward, but not necessarily in a bad way, at least the majority of the time. The ending was a let down but the rest of the book is fine. If you are looking for a strange book I recommend this to you.
