miss peregrines school for peculiar children

This book was great. It is about this boy named Jacob who, after the death of his grandfather goes on an adventure to an island off the coast of whales. On this remote island lies the remains of miss peregrines home for peculiar children, which his grandfather had spoken to him about. But the children were not just peculiar they were powerful and possibly dangerous, and they may also be alive. This book was great the creepy storytelling was well matched with eerie photographs and drawings. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in a twisted and clever story.

What If

This book is absoultly hilarious. This book, written by a nerdy internet cartoonist,  is a series of hypothetical questions/ situations that he applies real life science to. The results are horrifying, disastorous, apocolyptic, and absurd. An example of one of these questions would be when someone asked what would happen if there was a mole (the unit of measurement) of moles (the furry creature) the result is disgustingly astonishing. I would highly reccomend this book to anyone who hasnt read it yet.

The Secret History Of Wonder Woman

I really enjoyed this book. As a huge Wonder Woman fangirl, I really enjoyed reading and learning about all of the real life reasons for the themes displayed in Wonder Woman comics. This book talks about the suffragists and how Wonder Woman writer, William Moulton Marston, also the creator of the galvanic skin detector (which inspired the polygraph) was inspired to create Wonder Woman and her various allies, enemies, and plot lines. I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend it to anyone who is interested.

The Secret History Of Wonder Woman

It was only a matter of time before I read this book. I am a huge Wonder Woman fangirl so honestly I am surprised I didn't read this sooner. So far this book is awesome. It doesn't focus on Wonder Woman as much as I thought it would but instead talks about her inspiration and the feminist movement, which is really interesting. It talks about the suffragists and how Wonder Woman writer, William Moulton Marston, also the creator of the galvanic skin detector (which inspired the polygraph) was inspired to create Wonder Woman and her various allies, enemies, and plot lines. This book has been great so far and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested.

Beauty Queens

I finished this book and like I said in my previous blog and like I said before this book is weird.  It's about a group of girls competing in the Miss Teen Dream pageant. While the girls are flying to shoot a promo their plane crashes on a deserted island where they are forced to figure out a way to survive. The story is told from the perspectives of the different beauty queens, discussing their personal challenges along with their methods of survival. This book was a fun read. It's kinda in your face about all of the issues we deal with in society and how bad people are, but to be honest it kinda works and you get sucked in. I would reccomend this book to any looking for a weird yet intreasting book.

Beauty Queens

This book is unique. I honestly can't think of a better word to describe it. It is one of those books that only comes along once in awhile where you are simultaneously perplexed and intrigued. Like I said before this story is unique, with the author adding hidden depths to the characters instead of just leaving the to be comically shallow. This allows for you to laugh at the characters while also being able to relate to them. To any people who are willing to read this keep in mind that there are some very mature themes that the book goes into.

Glory O'Brien's History Of The Future

This book as I said before is "special". It's theme is odd and I still am somewhat confused by it. The story focuses on Glory, who is about to graduate from high school. She hasn't decided what she wants to do in her life. When she was four years old her mother committed suicide so she lives with her father. One day she and her friend Ellie decide to drink a mummified bat (because that's what angsty bored teenagers do...) and they soon find they have the power to see in to the future and past of everyone they look at. Like I said in the previous blog this book reminds me of a Wes Anderson movie. Its awkward, but not necessarily in a bad way, at least the majority of the time. The ending was a let down but the rest of the book is fine. If you are looking for a strange book I recommend this  to you.
