Hunger Games

I feel like the majority of what I felt should be said was in my last post so you can read that here. Most people have read the book or watched the movie by now, but if you haven't here is a brief summary:

The book is about a girl named Katniss. She lives in a world run by an oppressive government, where each year a boy and a girl from each district (there are 12 districts) is chosen to fight in a battle to the death. Her sister gets chosen, and Katniss volunteers to go in her place, plunging her into the horror that is the Hunger Games.

I thought this book was fine, it wasn't bad but spectacular. I don't know if that is how I actually feel about or me being so sick of this book and it's popularity. Honestly, it's a pretty intresting story with some well-devloped character's, okay symbolism, and interesting ties to today's world, but I am really sick of The Hunger Games. If you haven't read it (which I think is very few people) I encourage you to read it and decide what you think.

  1. And I am sick of reading the Hunger Games blogs. (Nothing against the book/ book group, sorry if that was taken incorrectly.) You describe it pretty well, good summary. Even if all of the Hunger Games summaries were copied from the person's last blog. Oh well. At least it's not... you know what? I'm not going to finish that sentence

  2. I, too, am very sick of this series, and like you said, I am guessing part of it is its ever growing fan base. You give a good brief blog that explains the book well.
